Reading Buddies

All fifth grade classrooms are paired with a first grade classroom to be Reading Buddies.  This year, Ms. Kurtz's classroom is buddied with Mr. Roth's first grade.  Each week, a fifth grader will pick an appropriate book to read to their buddy in first grade and the first grade students also pick a book.  This is designed to encourage student reading and to have student helping student, as well as having a older student to look up to.  Students will split between Ms. Kurtz's and Mr. Roth's classrooms.  In addition, several get together including an end of the year picnic are planned.
